Adidas reveals Indian jersey for the Upcoming World Cup

Adidas became the kit sponsor for the BCCI in the starting of this year.

The previous kit sponsor was MPL. They came to an end of the contract through the mutual dealings between the MPL and BCCI. The new partnership of BCCI with Adidas begins on 23 May 2023. This contract is said to be the biggest in World Cricket’s history for the kit sponsorship. However, BCCI did not provide any exact numbers about the sponsorship. Furthermore, according to the reports the organization is to pay 65 lakh for every match that India plays until March 2028.

The World Cup jersey is the same as the ODI jersey with some slight modifications on them. Earlier, in the shoulders, the older jersey had white stripes. Now it is replaced with the tricolor of the Indian flag. However, during the World Cup, the Adidas jerseys will not have any sponsors on them because of ICC’s rule. The logo of BCCI, it has only two stars to showcase the India’s World Cup in 1983 and 2011.

Indian team to kickstart their campaign against Australia in Chennai on October 8. Before that, they had warm Ups against England and the Netherlands.
